Here is the newest version of the program. Similar to before, just save it as "pyderiv-0.1.py," then type in "python pyderiv-0.1.py" into the command line after cd'ing into its directory.
This newest version doesn't graph, but does not have the same reliance on Gnuplot or any other dependencies since all libraries are included in the installation of python. "pyderiv-0.1" can handle polynomials with terms like "ax^b," "ax" and "ae^bx" as well as negatives. When testing, please do not put more than one "x" in a term, and write all subtraction signs (between terms) as "+-" instead of "-". Notify me of any problems at gtfierro225@gmail.com.

Here's the code for the "older" derivative program. It just does polynomials...nothing fancy.
Here it is! Save it as "deriv.py" to run it via command line.
Enjoy!

Starting this weekend (the 25th), I will be using ibbabble.net to host files for some programming stuff that I'm working on. All projects will be available to download for free, and should be usable on all computers.
The main languages will be Java, Python and TiBasic (the rudimentary programming language for Ti-83+ => Ti-84+ Silver Edition).
If anyone would like to help, offer advice, complain, etc, email me at gtfierro225@gmail.com

There is now a calendar with important dates under the "Calendar" link on the main page to your left. The menu looks a little bit like it has been hacked together, so if it bugs anybody, please speak up.
The forums have not been getting much use lately, so please, everybody, don't forget about the site! You can now look at the important dates, and if I've missed any, let me know on the forums.

Hopefully, there should be a calendar with important dates and the like up on the site by the end of today. I'm either going to go for Google Calendar (what Reilly implemented on his site), or some acceptable PHP alternative.
I would highly reccomend editing and making posts to the "Homework" Forum on the forum page. If you edit posts and add on assignments, it will make life easier for a lot of people, including you!

If you have Internet Explorer or Safari, the header on the forums looks like this:

But it should look something like this:

It should be fixed soon, but until then, please ignore the big rectangle with the question mark. Remember to tell lots of people about the website and get them to make accounts! This will only be useful if there are a lot of people using it.
To reach this site from any firewall blocked computer (such as those at Montgomery), use the links http://xil.in/ibb to get to the main page and http://xil.in/ibbsch to get to the forums. Post on the forums concerning whether or not those links work from school; if need be, I can try and talk to the computer guys that work for the district.

RSS feeds for Butler, Quintrell, Van Tuyl, Battenfeld, Viking IB and the ToK Blog are up on the side; they should self update. Email me at gtfierro225@gmail.com or post on the forums to let me know if others should be included. For forum registration, new users need to be approved by the forum administrator, but it should be fixed by now.

This is the newest installment of http://ibbabble.net, created for the benefit of Montgomery High School IB students (although anyone may ask questions and post on the forums). As of now, the forums are up (click on the link on the sidebar). To register for the forums, please use your normal email, as you will be receiving reminder emails for homework and the like if you "subscribe" to the forums. Also, for usernames, please use some form of your real name, so that there is no anonymity.
Features that should be up soon
- RSS-feeds for teacherwebs displayed on homepage
- Mailing list for homework assigments
- Possible implemented wiki-engine to act as an online school planner
- Important dates list
All suggestions/information/etc, including what you believe you can offer to the site, should either be posted in the appropriate forum or emailed to me at gtfierro225@gmail.com
